Climate

Climate Types:
In Egypt the days are hot, while nights are cool and pleasant. Usually when I think of Egypt I think it is dry and generally Egypt is a very dry country. Egypt's climate is a little uniform across country, depending on where you compare it to. Compared to the United States, we have dry areas, snowy areas, windy areas, etc, Egypt's climate seems uniformed.

Seasonality:

Egypt gets less than 10 inches of rainfall annually. Most of which occur in the winter months, because summer is too hot. Coastal regions get more rainfall in Egypt therefore, Alexandria get more annual rain compared to Luxor. Rainfall decreases in the south and some areas do not receive rain for years. This is very different compared to Honolulu. Since I don't really live in town I do not know how often it rains, but I know it rains more in Honolulu than in Egypt. Compared to where I'm from, which is the Windward side, we get rain  constantly. Therefore the average precipitation in Egypt is not comparable to Hawaii.

Over the year there are two distinct seasons: hot summer with an average temperature of 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and mild winter with an average temperature of 48 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot summer season lasts from May to October, while the winter season continues from November through April. There are no big season changes, only prevailing winds and cyclic temperature variations.

Hawaii temperature does not change drastically like Egypt's. I do not think Hawaii has ever reached 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and we certainly did not ever get below 50 degrees. Therefore the average temperature in Egypt is not comparable to Hawaii.

  1. Egypt is a very interesting place with a lot of cool history. Egypt gets a lot less rainfall compared to El Salvador. Egypt also has a greater variation of temperature, El Salvador only ranges between high 60's to mid 70's. Both of our countries do not experience much season change, although Egypt experiences a temperature drop and El Salvador experiences more rain.
